New generation is watching pitched battles between protesters and Indian police from an old house, Kashmiri muslims through stones towards Indian police in Srinagar during a second day of a curfew on November 7, 2008. Thousands of troops were deployed in Indian-held Kashmir to prevent a protest rally called by separatist leaders against Indian rule in the Muslim-majority region.In the past few months, Kashmir has witnessed the biggest pro-independence demonstrations since an insurgency erupted in 1989.
