POLITICS

Indian army soldiers carry out a flag march in streets of Srinagar to enforcw a curfew across the valley on July 8, 2010. Military trucks and jeeps carrying soldiers in full battle-gear, enforcing police and paramilitary troops, passed through tense and empty roads of Srinagar as police and paramilitary forces dotted the streets. Journalists and photographers were not allowed to move out on the streets of Srinagar as officials cancelled their curfew passes. The curfew, a bid to quell violent protests in the insurgency-hit region, was imposed July 6 after two men and one woman died when security personnel opened fire to contain angry separatist demonstrations that have been fuelled by the deaths of several protesters over the past month. Curfew orders have been widely ignored in recent days.photo by habib naqash kp

NATURE VIOLATION

Tourists and majority of Kashmiris are under the illusion that behind the rows of Houseboats in Dal Lake there would be an open expanse of clear waters. The picture shows what lies behind. And behind that there is politics and corruption. And imminent death of Dal. Srinagar on October 18 2006 kp photo by habib naqash
